It’s a big, heavy vehicle that scrapes and scoops the snow before it - you don’t tend to think of it as producing a wide range of sounds - but a snow plow can perform a symphony of sounds, all in itself.
The snow sets the stage, blanketing the world in a thick, expectant hush.
Gradually, we hear the opening notes… a low, near-subliminal rumble in the distance, gaining in strength as it approaches. Then a growl superimposes itself… which shifts into a sustained scraping, which crescendos until finally a whoosh! of spraying snow joins in, soaring above the other sounds as it arcs away from the plow…
The tempo slows and volume gentles as the truck stops to pack its load safely to the side. A moment of silence, rhythmic beeping as it backs away, a pause... until the BANG! of a blade dropping down punctuates the end of this movement.
Gears roar as the vehicle pulls back onto the road and starts off on the next stretch.
The growl fades, the rumble dies… and silence reigns again.

You captured that BEAUTIFULLY.... in my case, just add the odd feeling of comfort that one gets occasionally... knowing the system is working and the cogs turning and our roads are being cleared
Oh, this is delightful!
(And so, so TRUE.)
Having never heard this symphony in person, i love the way you describe it.

Thanks, cutes.
There *is* something comforting about it, isn't there?

Delightful is a lovely word, thank you.

I'd try to record one for you, but it's impossible to really capture without being there to get the quiet, as well...
