My Current Covid Peeve

Some things, I get.
We all still need groceries...
We still need our prescribed medications...
Some things still need to happen.

What I do NOT get,
and what we do NOT need,
is foolish people deciding that rather than hunker down within a home situated amid infection, it would clearly be better for them to pack their potentially already contagious selves and offspring into a car so they can drive for several hours to where their second house is located- at which point, they can hop out, get some groceries, stop at the Walmart, maybe go to the liquor store… and then go hunker down.

Truth in Meme

I am not ignoring you all, it’s just been completely out of control Where I Work.
We were not ready for people to work from home, we’re still not ready, but we’re being yelled at for not being ready several days ago. (Particularly unjust since we tried to get ready but were shot down at the time by the powers that be. You know, the ones yelling at us now...)

I have worked seven of the seven days since I got back from my road trip, including a day I’d taken as vacation, and both days this weekend.

Quite frankly, I’m getting cranky.

So, yeah...

Maybelline in Space

This one is for the college bestie: my citified friend, who once laughed herself sick when she witnessed the spectacle that was “Jz Applying Makeup”, then sat me down, cleaned me up, and taught me one end of an applicator from another.

(I got my own back years later, when I had to show her how a fireplace works.)

It's Friday - Let's Dance!

Looking at my calendar back in early February, I knew that March was going to be a hectic month…  and then they tossed in Covid-19.

So hectic has turned to chaotic AND apocalyptic.
Work is a nightmare and I haven’t truly relaxed in weeks.

But life goes on, right? I have a roadtrip ahead of me, a family wedding to attend, and while I’m away, I’m having lunch with my college bestie, who I haven’t seen in googobs.

So despite the fact that my family’s happiness is about to put me in the poorhouse, I am reminded that life may be messy, but it’s also full of joy - and to help us remember that, tonight we’ll be dancing in the rain, courtesy of Mira Nair and “Monsoon Wedding”

(If you haven't seen this film, go find it immediately!)
