My nephew had arrived for a rare holiday visit. We don’t get to see him very often, so everyone was making sure he knew just how glad we were to have him around.
One relative, in fact, went so far as to arrive carrying a large box of Krispy Kreme donuts. Now, we don't actually have a Krispy Kreme franchise in the area, so this was a real treat. Grinning, he handed the treasure box to Nephew and said, “Here. I stole these for you.”
Nephew and I looked at the big, “Fundraiser” printed on the side of the box, looked at each other, and burst into howls of laughter. The relative was taken aback for a moment, then gave us one of those, “oh, you guys!” looks.
“There were leftovers from the sale and You Know What I Meant!”
Well, yes, we did.
But that’s still not going to stop us from laughing at you, Mr. Donut Thief!

Heeheehee! We used to have a Krispy Kreme nearby, now we have to go to the far north of here. If we can get up the courage, ti’s worth the drive.
Hi Jz - what fun ... great you all laughed ... and no doubt did for the rest of his visit - cheers Hilary
Donuts are one of my favorite food groups.

They are good, aren't they?
I'm secretly a bit glad they actually aren't closer - you'd never pry me out of there. :-)

We're kind of a laugh-y family, so yes, we did. :-)

Doughnuts and laughs...a good, kind, relative then:)
I'm not a doughnut fan but I do like to look at the colourful ones.

I cannot help but feel that in some alternative-reality way, that statement is a kind of corollary to "I only read Playboy for the articles"...
"I only look at donuts for the pretty colors..."
Hmmmmm...
;-D
