nilla lets me dream with:
You win the lottery.
What are you going to do with the rest of your windfall after you’ve done the usual - paid bills, etc.?
Well, you’re right that bills, retirement funds and house would come first. (See how well I adult?) BUT- on the assumption that I get to win big at the lottery and have plenty left over…
There’s this vacation I would LOVE to take. (It’s a real thing, even tho’ it sounds like a fantasy.)
You go and live for a couple of weeks in a villa in Florence, Italy.
You take classes (from real live academics, not just tour guides who’ve studied their handouts) on the art and culture of the Florentine Renaissance and you sightsee the rest of the time.
It is stupid expensive and I’m not sure it’s open to the general public anyhow… but that never, ever stops me from dreaming when I read about it.
(If you'll excuse me, I need to drift off now…)

Jz sounds like a wonderful way to spend your lotto winnings. Dream away, maybe one day it might eventuate.

I love that!! I have a friend who got to do something very similar only it was culinary classes in Florence. Oh, I totally wish you'd win the lottery now. I bet you don't even buy tickets, do you? Man...
If you EVER go on that - I'm right WITH you - Florence is one of the most beautiful cities in the world - back in the day when I did my European backpack it was in my top THREE favourite cities that I want to return to -
That would be worth every cent.
This is a good plan! I happen to know a woman who did - some years ago - exactly what you describe. It was everything you expect and more.
Some additional bonuses:
The fantastic food!
The academic teachers, male and female, were very knowledgeable and passionate about their topics and also attractive and deliciously fuckable.
I love Italy and yes, I like Florence too. Though my daughter once lived there for five months, working. Sadly she was not living in a villa and the daily commute on a bus through the suburbs was dreary and boring - not to mention annoying when she continually got chatted up by some rather ignorant American students!
I actually prefer Rome to Florence - and then there are the lovely small towns and villages throughout Tuscanny. That is not mentioning Venice of course! Not the main sites and museums - stay clear. Instead walk through the lesser known areas out of season, look around and soak up the atmosphere.
Good luck with the lottery.
:)

Your lips to Fortune’s ears!
(But I won’t quit my day job, just in case…)

Nope, afraid I generally don’t. In my entire life, I’ve probably gambled $10, between slot machines and lottery cards. (Life on the Edge, I’m not…)

Well, of COURSE I’ll need a friend along!

It would.
If only I could scrape enough of them up…

I’ll take the food and the passionate interest but you know the fuckable part isn’t that much of a draw for me. (Unless one of the academics was you, but that’s not your field…)
P-
Yeah, I think the villa is an integral part of the draw…
(Don’t most young male students become ignorant when faced with a pretty girl? ;-p)
Anyhow, it makes a nice dream…
Reading your responses to the comments is so entertaining. And as for dreaming--that's the only worthwhile thing I do with my time too:)
Hope to see you on the A to Z.
I've signed up.
Your posts last year made the challenge so much fun to be in.

Oh, I'm so glad you signed up again! Of course, it spoils me, getting used to seeing your gorgeous photos everyday but I enjoy being spoiled, so I won't complain.
I'm not sure I'm going to love the theme aspect but I figured I needed to try at least once...
I can always return to my happy random another time. :-)
A delightful answer! I'm not a huge fan of travel myself (don't faint, I'm really a homebody and would spend all day puttering in the garden if I didn't have that job thing to go to...!)
But I love your response, and can totally picture you right there. Happy dreaming!
Hug,
