I test-drove yet another massage therapist yesterday…
The jury is still out on the final decision but the initial session was very positive. She works in a much more pleasant environment than the last few, I like her approach to getting to know her clients, her touch was rhythmic and balanced, and there were no unfortunate side-boob smooshing incidents.... So I’m already pre-disposed to like her.
But I must tell you that what really won my heart had nothing to do with her massage techniques… it was an observation that she made:
She’d asked me if I was hypermobile.
“Well, my chiropractor says that working on me is like working on Gumby - does that fit?”
“That’s hypermobility, yes. It’s a good thing to be flexible… altho’ a lot of people who have hypermobility tend to hurt themselves a lot - sprains are very common.”
YES!!
"hypermobile", not "klutz"
It's a genetic condition -- not my fault, after all!
I think I love this woman…

Sounds like a keeper :-)

Yes. Soothing my soul is every bit as helpful as soothing my muscles.
;-p
It's much easier to deal with smart people, isn't it? She sounds smart.

*I* certainly consider her to be unusually penetrating, yes...
;-p
Enjoy future massages:)

I'm hoping this one can become more of a regular...
